Two vouchers, two ways to use them
Each Dubbo property gets two waste vouchers a year. Use one at the tip, or turn it into a kerbside bulky collection of up to the equivalent of 2 cubic metres (Dubbo Regional Council). In a rental the tenant books it, through the My DRC Waste portal, and urban households put the pile on the footpath without blocking people using it. The council has kept the pre-booked service going until June 2028 for homes with a two or three bin service (Dubbo Regional Council).
Out to Whylandra
The Whylandra Waste and Recycling Centre is on Cooba Road, about 15km west of Dubbo. It opens 8am to 4.45pm on weekdays and 9am to 4.45pm on weekends, and its Small Vehicle Receival Centre takes mixed household waste and recycling in all weather (Dubbo Regional Council). Council waste facilities are cashless, so bring a card (Dubbo Regional Council).
Renters and the road reserve
Just over a third of Dubbo's occupied homes were rented at the 2021 Census (ABS). Works within or next to a road reserve need the council's approval first, lodged online (Dubbo Regional Council). See interstate removals for a move out of New South Wales.
