Removalists in Orange

Orange's yearly bulky waste pick-up ran in January and February 2026, so a move later in the year needs another plan for the old furniture.

One pick-up a year

A yearly bulky waste pick-up from the footpath comes with Orange rates (Orange City Council). The 2026 round ran from 27 January to 20 February, with streets split either side of Anson Street (Orange City Council). Items went out in three neat piles, because a separate truck took each one, and anything over 2 cubic metres was left. Each truck stops once per address, so a sofa put out after the truck has been is left behind.

Ophir Road, seven days

Outside that window, the Ophir Road Resource Recovery Centre at 261 Ophir Road, 5km north east of the CBD, takes waste from 8am to 5pm every day except Good Friday and Christmas Day (Orange City Council). It also has a Recovery Shop (Orange City Council). See last-minute removals if the move date has crept up.

Room for the truck

The council publishes maps of the CBD's timed zones and car parks, many with all-day parking, and several streets a few minutes' walk from the centre carry no time limit (Orange City Council). A third of Orange's occupied homes (33.3%) were rented in 2021 (ABS).
