Removalists in Ballina

Ballina's Resource Recovery Centre opens seven days a week, so a rushed clear-out the day before the truck comes still has somewhere to go.

The bins stay with the house

Ballina Shire Council supplies its bins to set addresses, so leave them behind when you go (Ballina Shire Council). Bins need to be out by 5am on collection day and the trucks lift no more than 60kg, so a bin crammed with packing rubbish can be missed. Moving a whole house at once? See house removals.

Southern Cross Drive, seven days

The Resource Recovery Centre at 169 Southern Cross Drive takes loads from 8am to 4pm every day except public holidays (Ballina Shire Council). Every vehicle is weighed in and out, with waste measured by weight in each category, so sort the trailer before you set off. The Ballina Salvage Shed on the same site reopened in April and the council now runs it.

Truck limits and the bridge works

In built-up parts of the shire, a vehicle of 4.5 tonnes GVM or more, or 7.5 metres or longer, may stop for up to one hour, and a goods vehicle in a loading zone gets only as long as the job takes, capped at 30 minutes (Ballina Shire Council). Timed parking is patrolled in the Ballina, Lennox Head and Alstonville town centres. The Ballina Bridges Duplication has also closed the turn into Norlyn Avenue from River Street since 17 August 2026: go in by Brunswick Street (Ballina Shire Council).
